why is that this tag sometimes doesn't get added on those "no bleeding" works. If it says it's her first on the dialogue it should still be added isn't it.

It bothers me that there's no period and that all words are capitalized, but oh well, better than nothing I guess.

I agree with @ fuckriri1234. The tag should be clearly gendered. The current tag’s meaning could be way more obvious.

[Loss of virginity via penetrative sex] The term defloration itself is backwards. (Taking away innocence/beauty away). I don’t see how it’s strictly gendered. woman or man or other being « deflowered » make sense. Shouldn’t the Tag be [Female virgin] .

@leah church > Wouldn’t [“loss of vaginal virginity”] be more apt? Because a futa character can also be “deflowered” - The issue is that some users want to define [defloration] as the rupturing of the hymen, not as the loss of vaginal virginity. That's why I proposed [female virginity loss] as well as [hymen rupture]. I'm refraining from using [defloration] to remove room for misunderstandings @Renol > The loss of vaginal virginity. Usually includes blood in the vaginal area, drawings of hymen, or is mentioned. This would make futanari’s with a penis and vagina possible to use this. - The issue still persists that users want [defloration] to specifically be for hymens rupturing To be clear, the list I gave is not about how tags are currently being used, it's a simple blueprint to give all users what they want. The discussion should be how to improve this blueprint and how existing tags fit within it

> I think it should be a bit more specified - It's a fine definition for [female virginity loss] > When the female character had already broken her hymen due to intense activities or sex toys but have never had sex before, defloration tag should not be used - You never mentioned [hymen rupture] as a defining trait of [defloration] so that's contradictory. On the bright side, [hymen rupture] + [female virginity loss] is the equivalent for what you describe here > Perhaps something like “first time” or “virginity” tag should be used. Though I’m leaning towards “first time” more since it focuses on the characters first time having sex rather than the chastity of the characters - Done... now how should we define sex? "Penetration" is faulty (yuri scissoring example), and "any sexual act" is faulty as well (does a blowjob count as virginity loss?). I think the best way to define it might be contact between genitals. Idk tho

@mrmcpron > " : rupture of the hymen (as by sexual intercourse) " - equal to my [hymen rupture] @letsgoonmyouji79 > defloration has been used to refer to a woman losing her virginity - equal to my [female virginity loss] @mrmcpron > that's too broad [...] you can _also_ create a tag for "virginity loss" or something that covers this - done @JakeSmit > [defloration] to me is a bit more emotional to me, often accompanying NTR or rape where the female victim suffers from sorrow, anger and/or guilt - equal to my [female virginity loss] with rape/ntr involved @Renol > Losing of one’s virginity. Usually includes blood, drawings of hymen, or mentioned. - equal to my [female virginity loss]. Often accompanied by [hymen rupture]

Lots of people are debating the definitions, but I think we can agree on a general blueprint: *virginity -> for characters that, at any point of the story, have not had sex *virginity loss -> for characters that have sex for their first time male virgin -> gendered subtag male virginity loss -> gendered subtag female virgin -> gendered subtag female virginity loss -> gendered subtag **hymen rupture -> explicit depiction of a female rupturing her hymen * we often think sex must include penetration, but I'd argue a yuri couple scissoring still counts as [virginity loss]. Basically, I'm using a very loose definition of sex here: "any form of sexual activity between two people" ** the woman's virginity status is completely irrelevant here. A virgin woman may experience hymen rupture via sex toy. A non-virgin woman can [regenerate her hymen] and still experience hymen rupture. While these galleries often feature a [female virgin] and [female virginity loss], they are not necessary

Simple description, not too strict, applicable to all female losing their virginity.

“The loss of vaginal virginity. Usually includes blood in the vaginal area, drawings of hymen, or is mentioned”. This would make futanari’s with a penis and vagina possible to use this. I want to add while I’m fine with nice and short description, a couple of community added defloration tags missed the mark. And by missed I mean ADDING IT TO CHARACTERS THAT LITERALLY HAD SEX BEFORE!!! THIS IS SACRILEGIOUS!!! I mean come on if this tag is so easy to miss tagged then as much as I hate it just remove it.. Just use the virgin tag because it seems there’s not many people that know what a defloration is.

In my previous comment I meant: “Loss of vaginal virginity”

Wouldn’t vaginal virgin be more apt? Because a futa character can also be “deflowered”.

is an example of a female virgin's first time but with no visible blood.

When the female character had already broken her hymen due to intense activities or sex toys but have never had sex before, defloration tag should not be used. Perhaps something like “first time” or “virginity” tag should be used. Though I’m leaning towards “first time” more since it focuses on the characters first time having sex rather than the chastity of the characters. Understanding the characters state of chastity can be a fickle especially male virginity.

Yeah, there's overlap with virginity as a tag here

Losing of one’s virginity. Usually includes blood, drawings of hymen, or mentioned. Is this good? I think it should be a bit more specified or add a more detailed description in the notes so others that want to use this tag would know what it specifically is. I hate when defloration isn’t tagged but i hate it even more if it’s tagged but there’s no defloration.

rename defloration female virgin rejected explains itself: there is a female virgin in this work. [defloration] to me is a bit more emotional to me, often accompanying NTR or rape where the female victim suffers from sorrow, anger and/or guilt.

I disagree with that as well, that's too broad, and it steps on a significant part of the fantasy, with a narrow definition like I proposed you can _also_ create a tag for "virginity loss" or something that covers this
letsgoonmyouji79

@mrmcpron I disagree, that specific definition is too strict. Both historically and online defloration has been used to refer to a woman losing her virginity, in fact the cambridge dictionary also lists this definition: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/defloration

Bad description, no idea how to submit a correction, either way, the phrase description should align with the more expected definition https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/defloration " : rupture of the hymen (as by sexual intercourse) "
