story-rich is when Works have a narrative experience that is highly detailed and multi-layered with external events and /or character development.
Applied
A given work is story-rich when it has a narrative experience that is highly detailed and multi-layered with external events and /or character development.
note Exemples: I will make a single woman my wife / Isekai Furin / Drama Queens / Netori Mahoutsukai no Bouken
After much thought, I came to be convinced that story rich is a better tag overall
Name
-plot-heavy
+story rich
Description
-plot-heavy / story-rich is when Works have a narrative experience that is highly detailed and multi-layered with external events and character development.
+story-rich is when Works have a narrative experience that is highly detailed and multi-layered with external events and /or character development.
Changed so this can have the description of what boiled down from the comments. Now the discussion is only up for if it will be plot-heavy or story-rich
Description
-plot-heavy / plot-focused is when a series has exposed sex so its not ecchi but its also mostly focused on the story, exemple is Netori Mahoutsukai no Bouken and the Ponhwa Circles / Drama Queens.
+plot-heavy / story-rich is when Works have a narrative experience that is highly detailed and multi-layered with external events and character development.
Note
-It's different form the story-arc tag because it would exclude the ones where there's a backstory for like ten pages and then the next 90 is all sex. Letting people who want to enjoy a spicy STORY separate whats an adult story and what is drawn porn.
+Exemples: I will make a single woman my wife / Isekai Furin / Drama Queens / Netori Mahoutsukai no Bouken
-Hey guys just letting you know I added suggestion editing ;)
+plot-heavy / plot-focused is when a series has exposed sex so its not ecchi but its also mostly focused on the story, exemple is Netori Mahoutsukai no Bouken and the Ponhwa Circles / Drama Queens.
Proposed description after the discussions >>>> Plot-heavy describes a story, single or series where there's as much focus on external events, action, twists, and a complex sequence of incidents and character psychological development that don't necessarily involve sex as there are sex scenes.
I don't think this is a subset of story arc. A story arc is merely a section of the orc that gives us more context, for exemple: in most 30/40 pages of work we get like 3 to 4 pages of character presentation and the build up to the next 28 pages of sex scenes. In a story arc, we can have 10-15 pages of character / relationship dynamics between the characters and then 40 pages of purely sexual acts. On the other hand, in a plot-heavy work we can have an 80 pages work where 40-50 pages of phycological and relationship dynamics are developed in between the sex scenes to create a heavier relationship between the character outside of the bedroom.
Like in tsuyatsuya works, a lot it is sex, but a huge chunk of it is directed at giving the tension build up for the sex scenes in a way that isn't as rushed in a normal doujin and more complex than a story arc one. If a character is rougher while having sex, we usually saw his resentment and stress acumulate in the previous 10 pages.
It's a good description but I think removing the examples is the right next step.
"Describes a story that involves sex but its also mostly focused on the story and/or character development making the latter the focus of the series."
Or something among those lines.
yeah, his new description actually makes a lot of sense. I think we should just accept this. It helps both people who are looking for interesting works and people who just want the sex without interruptions. As for the name I actually think "plot-heavy" is a bit better than "story rich". I think the main reason why people might prefer "story rich" is that it's a tag on Steam. But anyway I'm fine with either and I'm sure most people agree on that, it's just a matter of preference, both hint at "more words, less sex"
Plot-heavy is already a established term in media, Google: "Plot-heavy describes a story, book, or movie where the primary focus is on external events, action, twists, and a complex sequence of incidents rather than deep psychological exploration of the characters. In plot-heavy works, the narrative momentum drives the reader forward."
this being in nhentai is better for usable purposes then of "story-rich" because it's more widespread and immediatly recognizable and intuitive, it also rolls out of the mouth better than "story-rich"
Perfected description ---> Plot-heavy describes a story, single or series where the focus is more evenly split between external events, action, twists, and a complex sequence of incidents and character psychological development than sex scenes. In plot-heavy works, the narrative momentum drives the reader forward as much as the sex scenes. It's not exclusive to multi-work series but heavily reliant on longer length stories.
I like the intention behind the tag. Would this "plot-heavy" tag be used as an intensifier to the "story arc" tag because I assume most content with the "plot-heavy" tag would also have the "story arc" tag, but not vice versa?
Would this tag only be for "series" or would a long one shot that is mostly focused on the plot also count? Should there be a minimum number of pages?
