Tag description Contain a character who acts out unlike what their gender supposed to be. Ranging from pretending to be one(cosplay and such) into changing their genitals and their body as whole.

note Lot of possession/body swap stuff incorrectly putting this tag. Hopefully with added description people will differentiate it better

The proposed description is completely wrong. "pretending" or "cosplaying" as opposite gender is simply crossdressing.

I took this definition from a website called all the tropes. One that extensively talks about gender bend and what it literally is Description: A character that has undergone a complete physical sex change, usually through magic or Applied Phlebotinum. Depending on the storyline, this may be a one-time temporary change, a recurring change (causing the character to jump the gender line often), or even permanent. Every other gender tag should be dissolved. Person possessing a body, Tag: Possession Person wearing a skinsuit, Tag: skinsuit Person turns into a futa, Tag: Futanari (see "complete physical sex change") Two people switch bodies that are the opposite gender, Tag: Bodyswap It's literally that easy. I see waaaaay too many possession and bodyswap stories. This definition is for fiction, not for real life.

Gender bender is when a character change his/her body to the opposite sex regardless if was by magic, medicine, or unkwon source that mean his/her is independent of sexual orientation, because principally just change the body (except if the version of the character in the story is just the opposite sex by start)

gender bender, i believe is literally just the same gender swap and gender change. perhaps it should be worded "through various means, a persons physical gender is changed, this can be permanent, conditional, or temporary."

Gang show me the guy who made three different tags for the same fucking thing. Why couldn't some of you keep your dirty hands from muddying the gender bender/morph/change WHATEVER tag? This should be exclusively used for fully biologically 100% changing one's gender to the opposite sex, that is it, name your other fetishes according to what they are. Don't create umbrella and redundant tags. If it is transexual, open a transexual tag, if it is pretending , open a trap tag, if it is crossdressing, just put crossdressing tag on, ETCETERA. I seen some of you mention Established characters being gender swapped from the get go, but for naming convention it should be something like "Reversed Genders" not this, these give people the wrong impression, and you guys arguing is just proving my point. As it stands, this is disgusting to me. That is why I vouch that we take down the other two "gender _" tags, and properly define AND NAME each gender relating trope.

The current description is about gender change though. Gender Bender and Morph requires a physical transformation, Gender Change is what the description is talking about. Just (permanently) acting opposite to the original gender, during the story, can already be consider gender change, but not gender bender. All of those would need the gender change tag, unless it's a genderbent parody. The note is correct though, possession/body swap is NOT gender morph.

Gender bender are for characters that are canonically one gender and get their gender swapped in the doujin. Gender morph is when a character, original or not, changes their sex in/during the story, slowly or instantly. Gender change is when their gender changes during the story, be it just visually, personalitywise or even with full sex change. The current DenTRM definition is describing gender change, not gender bender.

Sadpanda definition for "Gender Change" (The “Gender Bender” tag there was renamed to that one a while ago): Description: A character changes gender from their usual one through any means (e.g. gender morph, possession, and body swap). Notes: Should not be confused with crossdressing. Presence extends to the duration of the person being of a different gender. A female becoming a futanari/shemale does not qualify. Acceptable when a male turns into a dickgirl (futanari/shemale). For parodies (e.g. female ranma saotome) the change itself does not have to be shown.

Gender bender should be for characters that are not their canon gender. describe gender change +68 should be for characters that changed gender during events the gallery, but not in any specific way. Any additional tag can be added as well for specificity, e.g. gender morph, posession, skinsuit, body swap. describe gender morph +159 should be for when characters slowly change gender during events in the gallery.

Gender Bender: Contains a character that at some point in the story has "Their own body" switch to the opposite gender. Magically, scientifically, or otherwise. Not to be confused with Body Swapping or Body possession. I don't see why we wouldn't be allowed to have that little addendum at the end Its a pure definition. Nothing confusing, Just laying out the facts. Gender morph/ change does fit but I'd rather not have the tag spread out. I just want the fake ones out like I said, possession, body swap, skin suit, etc. Although it may be a little hard to actually move them to a different tag.

Gender Bender - Established characters from existing series written as the opposite sex from the perspective that they always were. Gender Morph/Gender Change - Characters changing sex at some point of the story.

This definition would overlap with the crossdressing tag, making the latter completely useless. My suggestion would be to combine gender bender and gender change tags, since in practice they mean practically the same thing, but to keep the gender morph tag, which can actually indicate a difference in content

I go more with what @GamerDemonDark says. yeah there might be a difference when you look up the dictionary, but when browse the tag gender bender its more about the change of sex and not the behaviour of the mc.

@norioff well idk, i just following what the term defined as. You can see that gender bender has 11k in it while those gender change and such only has 1-2k ish. So gender bender is covering allat pretty much. So honestly it's either everything is gender bender, or gender bender removed and only those specific thing exist.

@DenTRM If you’re using that logic, wouldn’t pretending to be the opposite gender through cosplay and such be classed under crossdressing?
