tag vessel
Tag description Contains a character, body, or manifestation that serves as the host, conduit, or embodiment of another entity, power, force, or concept. The housed presence may: remain dormant, communicate with the vessel, influence thoughts and behavior, reshape the vessel's identity and/or body, attempt to assert control, or fully control the vessel. In some cases, the vessel and its occupant develop a shared existence in which their traits, wills, or personalities intermingle while remaining distinct beings.
note Think Yuji and Sukuna, Venom, and [League of Legends] Runterra Darkins as some examples. Similar to, but distinct from, the possession tag.

@SunnyTANKER YES, THAT'S IT, EVERYTHING CLICKED NOW! Thank you! Although it is not really "owning" I now am 100% certain what it is, and I can give a very well example to explain to everyone the tag: Okay, so there is a character, and this character steals a boat. But when you steal a boat you wouldn't necessarily say that you own that boat, because maybe the character stole the boat just to get across the river, and then just abondons the boat to go ride on other boats. BUT if the character were to cross the river they can also choose to keep the boat with them, and declare "this is my boat now!" and bring the boat wherever they go! And if some character is in the middle of the ocean, unable to change boats, maybe they were tied to it by others, they would be bound to that boat even if it is not their original boat, therefore technically making it their own boat! NOW CHANGE ALL BOAT EXAMPLES WITH PHYSICAL BODIES, AND YOU GOT IT! If the boat is owned, it is a Vessel!!

-2- But if it is used as a means to an end, and then discarded, that is just possession!! I hope that was clear!

@AHentaiPerson2 i think the word your looking for is "owning" I read all comments but i don't get why this is on negative downvotes? i did not see anything like this tag on other sites soo i think this is new but it doesnt mean its bad.

@40-sai archwizard Hmm, good question actually. I'd say no. This is just a skinsuit/possession scenario rather than a Vessel one. For the Vessel tag, I'm looking for cases where 'a different'/another's body serves as a physical body for a character (can be a force, or a concept too), BUT simply possessing or wearing a body shouldn't be sufficient by itself. There can definitely be overlap between possession, skinsuit, and Vessel, but not every possession or skinsuit work qualifies as Vessel. The difference I myself describe it as is "settling", either forcefully or willingly. It is kinda vague so it's a hassle, but if you think came up with a better definition I'd be glad to hear it. Because I definitely don't want any and every skinsuit/possession work to also have vessel slapped on them. And looking back, I probably should have clarified these on the description too.

Hey @AHentaiPerson2 is this good enough? (also check out the author's other works, yikes!)

@Jor25 It comes back to being partially correct, and misleading. That statement describes this as something two characters partake in, but as I mentioned before, it can be a manifestation of a character, which then the body itself wouldn't be considered a character. Also "sealed" sounds like it is a forced thing, which may not be the case for some. Finally, if we call the occupant a "character" then that leaves 'power, force, or concept' out of the picture, so my winter example would not fit, because winter itself is not really a character. I guess we could change the "entity" part to "character", but rest would be stay untouched. And you might worry that this is too broad, but the trick is to combine this with other tags to get what kind of "vessel" you'd want, like: create tag multiple identities +22 or create tag fusion +29 or 'possession'. Or if you want it the other way around, search for negative tags.

@AHentaiPerson2 How about “when a character is contained or sealed within another character’s body or soul”? That gets the point across and strips out the chatGPT slop.

@akashako yeah, I was just going by extremes. Still your examples are not good at all ("rough sex" isn't currently a tag). And for the most part I think that being a combined tag is a pretty big variable to consider if it should be outright rejected
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
@Jor25 I mean I did get some help from the AI, but I wouldn't say this is a copy paste description, I altered most of it to suit what I am trying to describe here. I get that it comes across as formal, but I think that is fine, also I can't imagine a better description for it when we take the first sentence to describe the whole tag. If I were to simplify the first sentence any further it would lose some of it's meaning, leaving it partially correct.

I really think you should drop the lawyer/chatGPT speak, and write a description in clear natural language.
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
For the mods and newcomers: The description will-be/should-be shortened to first sentence if this becomes a tag: "Contains a character, body, or manifestation that serves as the host, conduit, or embodiment of another entity, power, force, or concept." The current rest of the description just goes further in depth what this can be, so people get the basic idea. Don't let it scare you.

@Osamu09 I'm not saying that all tags that are combinations of tag should be a thing. I'm saying that simply being a combination of tags should NOT disqualify a proposal from existing. I used 'oppai loli' as an example because it is one of the most high profile ones. For example 'facefuck' is a tag that is just a combination of blowjob and rough sex, but because it's a specific kind of blowjob, and a specific type of rough sex, it was accepted and is now being added to galleries.
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
@Osamu09 It circles back to you/ChatGPT not finding it "appealing enough". I don't care about that, nor do I care if it is unpopular. Some people love this, and some works contain this, and thus it should exist. for the "multiple personalities", it should be a separate tag by itself, it is NOT the same thing with what I am suggesting here. You are arguing for sake of arguing at this point, just because you don't find it appealing.
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
@akashako Thank you so much for being here and explaining it. I agree with your statement.
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
@Jor25 I think it is something like, like we disscused before, a diagram, more specifically, an Euler diagram. Avatar could still be considered a vessel, but I wouldn't count game characters avatars as vessels so it would be more like Venn diagram probably.
Osamu09
Osamu09
@akashako oh yeah absolutely. Never said it's not a thing as for the combined tags I disagree. They shouldn't be a thing. Oppai loli is just one of the exceptions, and the main reason is that it's a body type. Also both tags are way too common so it just make sense to use another tag. For most cases of combine tags you just can't have everything. It's once again about pragmatism vs idealism
Osamu09
Osamu09
@AHentaiPerson2 yep, now I understand much better. So here's my final conclusion. You're not gonna find what you're looking for with this tag. "vessel" doesn't need and often doesn't include any of the appeals that chatGPT suggested. Without going in too much details I think "multiple personalities" would be a much better tag
akashako

Anything can arouse anyone. Some people have a sunburn fetish. I don't fucking get it. But it turns them on so good for them. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it's not a thing. When tags like this show up where the description is earnestly trying to describe the tag, maybe not eloquently sometimes, it means that person has an interest or disgust for that thing. As for a tag not being good enough because it can be a combination of two other tags, it does not apply. The fact that 'oppai loli' is a combination of 'loli' and 'big breasts' and the tag still exist, should be enough of an example to understand that. Those two tags can apply to different parts of the gallery, maybe it's an oyakodon work and the daughter is a loli, while the mother has big breasts.
Jor25
Jor25
Just a heads up for the “winter” example, the word you are looking for is ‘avatar’, not ‘vessel’.
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
He forgot to mention but I'll help the case further: Vessel doesn't need to be it's own person that is being 'possessed', for example if someone wants to fuck the concept of, let's say 'winter', the 'winter' can manifest itself a vessel just to be an individual in a magical setting.
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
@Osamu09 My bad, I didn't think it was this bad. To explain to you properly, I got my friend ChatGPT here to write it out for you, since you seem to understand that kind of language, because I can't be bothered to explain further myself if you still don't get it after all that: "The appeal isn't really about "multiple personalities." It's more like a character being tied to, embodying, or serving as a host for something beyond themselves—whether that's another being, a supernatural force, a powerful entity, or even an abstract idea given form. What makes it interesting is the interaction between the person and that presence: influence, coexistence, transformation, shared identity, conflicting wills, or gradual blending. Sometimes the presence is actively involved, and sometimes it's simply expressed through the character's existence. A lot of people find it appealing because it combines intimacy, transformation, identity exploration, and power dynamics into a single trope."
akashako

is a very pure example of this tag. In the original, Birdy absorbs Tsutomu and is a vessel for him. Tsutomu is not possessing Birdy, she is still in control and is holding him within herself. is another one where the vesseling happens in the gallery. Same thing, one character absorbs another character and the one absorbed now lives in the other's body.

@AHentaiPerson2 my bad. I thought it was obvious. It's always about the backstory vs content. Or in other words pragmatism vs idealism you're wrong. I can understand. It's just that nobody explained it yet and from my own conclusions I found nothing. What's arousing about it? And then I will think if the same arousal applies to similar scenarios while technically they are related, it's not directly, which is what my question was meant to be about. You can't just say the character is related to the hentai and the tag is related to the character so the tag is related to the hentai. At that point everything would be related to everything. I need something more concrete
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
?? First of all, this and that conversation is very different, other than your "I don't get it" part, they have nothing in common. Second, you do not need to understand if you do not understand it, it arouses some people, each person may have their own reason for this to arouse them. Third, it relates to hentai or erotic context as does the previous examples I have given you do, it presents a character with this trait. Finally, it SOMETIMES being combination of different tags does not disqualify this from being it's own thing, this does not need to consistently have does tags attached to it, AND people may look for characters like this and FAIL to find works that contain this EVEN IF they combine the tags that were mentioned before, because of the sheer mass of works that is out there which is NOT this.
Osamu09
Osamu09
this is pretty much the same discussion as in create tag reversed genders +13, but what I ask myself is: how does "vessel" relate to a hentai/erotic context? Why does it arouse someone? And any conclusion points it to either not being a sexual thing or there's already existing tags that have the same purpose
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
@Osamu09 Huh? No, Naruto is not hentai, yeah you are not wrong about that. But the tag 'demon girl' is not hentai either, or the tag 'old man' or 'slime'. This tag is just telling the reader "this work will contain a character like this", I hope that was enough to convey to you what I am trying to accomplish here.
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
@Jor25 Yeah, that went by me. And also the description could be shortened only to the first sentence's end, because the rest just goes in detail about what the tag is precisely, but I can't edit it sadly.
Osamu09
Osamu09
@Jor25 honestly the naruto example is the only thing I understood so far so keeping that example in mind I can now say with 100% certainty this tag is useless since naruto isn't a hentai
Jor25
Jor25
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention Naruto, as he’s probably the most well known example of this. That said, the tag description given in the proposal is very confusing and definitely needs to be simplified. The guidelines say to keep the description short, after all.
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
@Osamu09 It's not just possession? This tag implies an entity, power, force, or concept that resides inside A vessel, doesn't imply it needs to be an already established character. It is also not just, or needs to be: "mind control", "body swap" or "shared senses", And while "multiple personalities" is a good suggestion to make, this is not really multiple personalities either - vessel specifically implies that someone/something is residing inside a body while that body being different than their original body, if they had one. I mean I assume you do know what a vessel is, but I'd be happy to explain more in depth if you are not aware?
Osamu09
Osamu09
wait, I just read your previous comment. How is this not just "possession" then? That's literally what a vessel is
Osamu09
Osamu09
so either "mind control", "body swap" or perhaps "shared senses". I see nothing new that this tag can do I guess it would make more sense to make a "multiple personalities" tag if someone really likes the idea of more people in one body
AHentaiPerson2
AHentaiPerson2
Example works: While all of these are possession, it doesn't need to be just that. I just couldn't exactly find what I was looking for, so these will do for now. Nevermind, found what I was exactly looking for after a minute or two: I mean it still is possession I guess, but you get the idea.
