Tag description Shemale (or she-male) is used to describe a transgender woman, typically one who has male genitalia and has developed female secondary sex characteristics like breasts through hormone therapy or surgery. In Hentai are also "magical" ways characters become something similar.

While it is technically a correct description of the name of the tag, it is not what the tag is.

Yes, futanari and shemale are different, that's why they're different rocks. It's no different than saying graphite and diamonds are the same thing.

gynomorph is CRAZY lmao but I agree this term sucks. My vote is to just merge with futa. We have "full package futanari" so why not "no vagina futanari" or whatever but does anybody actually really care for the distinction? just merge it.

@pototo soup the problem with that is that dickgirl is already used for tags, such as "dickgirl on female", which means a futanari or shemale having sex with a female. Dickgirl just means a female that has a penis it, does not indicate if said character also has a vagina.

In the futanari fetish, shemale is sometimes used to differentiate between those with both vagina and penis(hermaphrodites) vs those with just a penis(dickgirls). It doesn't actually mean transgender characters. I'd much rather do away with the term. Replace any functional use of shemale with dickgirl. For genuinely trans characters, just give them a trans tag.

It's an outdated and derogatory term. It's better to discuss things related to this tag in the suggestion linked below.
