note Shemale is widely considered a derogatory slur and a lot of people understandably want it changed. I also see a lot of confusion about what this tag means but there is in fact a clear objective answer: feminine body with male genitalia and no vagina. That is how this tag has historically been applied. Gynomorph as defined on e621 is: "An intersex character with a feminine body type, penis / balls, breasts, but no vulva." I think this makes it a suitable replacement for the shemale tag.

regardless wether you think "shemale" is derogatory or not, "gynomorph" is just a more neutral term. It's already a fact that some people don't like it. And switching to "gynomorph" shouldn't be that big of a deal as it is an uncommon tag, realistically most people are not even gonna notice it changed. I get that some people care about it, and honestly I don't have much to say about that. Just keep in mind that aliases might be added one day, so we could have "gynomorph" as the more neutral default name, while people who are used to it from real life porn or whatever can still use "shemale" I guess I also want to mention that "shemale" comes from west culture and it doesn't really appear in japanese works, therefore there's never gonna be an actual good enough reason to keep it as "shemale"

IRL, shemale is a slur towards trans people, so it has a trans connotation. Regardless of how offensive someone finds it or doesn't find it, it should be changed for this reason alone. It's one of those things that muddies the waters of terminology & definition. Plus confuses people who aren't well versed in the fetish/particular website. To be honest, I don't really care what people rename it too. It just gets me autistically annoyed how some people keep thinking shemale stuff = transgender @Nethira: Not really. Realistically, what people search for when they're looking for this kind of content is futa. 9/10, especially in general and not this website, futanari means woman with a dick, vagina optional (and often absent). You google futa, you get peen and only peen. On any given website including this one), there's always a giant disparity between futa and shemale tags.

Shemale is a porn term and this is a hentai website. That's what people are gonna search for. If you name it gynomorph I guarantee you no one will know what the fuck that is. It's already enough that this is the only website that uses "tomgirl" instead of trap or femboy.

This description is straight up wrong to what this tag means and how it is used. This tag means "Girls that have male genitals but not a vagina." That is it. It has nothing to do with transgenderism. Sexual identity politics are not involved. There is no derogatory involved. It is merely a description and if you are offended by it, that is entirely your problem. Stop trying to hijack a term to make it mean something else it is not.

@yyyk i dont know if you realised this but this is about porn. im not talking about real life im talking strictly porn and the term shemale is used everywere in porn. and no this discussion is not about a person with male and female body parts its about changing the tag shemale which is a transwomen btw. to a tag that doesnt fit that description. if the op desperately want to have that tag just create a new one and dont force your wrong ideology onto others

@itzuwe just 'cuz you "have trans friends" doesn't mean all trans ppl will agree with your take. Regardless of what your friends think, this was a term pretty much made up by porn, so it's pretty derogatory to refer to an actual person as being "shemale" But, even beyond THAT dicussion, the most important part that you're missing here is that this tag isn't (exclusively) about transgender women. Gender isn't commonly discussed in porn in the first place, what with all sorts of people randomly growing dicks and pussies and whatnot, so it's much more logical to just a physical descriptor as a tag – it's why cuntboy isn't tagged as "trans man" While you may not have read the word "gynomorph" previously, it's a pretty straightforward and literal word. LokillMe i have many friends that are transgender and neither of them find the term shemale offensive. This is a porn site the terms should be as easy to understand as possible, no one want to be dragged out of the zone to look up a term. are we really trying to be on the moral highground when tags like rape and snuff are arount? when i asked my friends and other acquaintances no one knew the term gynomorph. so when we go by what has use in day to day life thats not it then even seperate tags for transman and transwomen would make more sense

Shemale is a confusing term on its own, but is only a google search away from a definition. However, the instances used on this website alone can be contradictory, and with similar but ultimately different tags, its use as a synonym is inevitable. While this is never a problem on sites like this one, Shemale has little to no use in day-to-day life. And with the advent of "pronouns aren't directly tied to gender" being common knowledge, the term will age poorly. Gynomorph is a somewhat obscure word that is only a google search away from a definition. However, with its Greek etymology, it's not only possible to guess its meaning correctly without looking up a definition, it also provides a reusable prefix and suffix to learn other obscure words. With an etymology as straightforward as "female shaped", not only it gets intuitive pretty quick, it's also specified in specialized field like biology.

Itzuwe I'm transgender and disagree with you. The trans women you see are probably saying it to appeal to chasers (for money or attention) or get off on humiliation. The same applies to the term ladyboy but that's a different conversation. But I also don't go to nhentai to be upset about terminology so I usually ignore weird tag names. It's fun to learn new words and I think this is fitting.

I'll try to explain what I found so far shemale is an outdated term and is considered quite derogatory, which in itself is already a good reason to change the name of the tag shemale was originally used to describe males that trasgendered to female while keeping their male genitalia but developing secondary female traits such as breasts Anyway I think that shemale is actually different from futanari. For example in the works #126435 | Futanari Sketch | 2,705 , #339718 | Futanari Sketch 2 | 2,374 , #217518 | Futanari Sketch 3 | 1,972 , #339801 | Futanari Sketch 4 | 2,130 only the last two have been tagged with "shemale", but the work is called "futanari sketch". Which is all very confusing. What I think is that they shouldn't be considered "shemale" because in the original work (hidamari sketch) they're all females, which is not what the original word is supposed to mean
