this time fuckriri1234 is correct. they are completely different. also, if we don't already, we need a tag for ''inmoral worlds'' where laws and culture are different, be it women being the horny ones, or lolis being legal.

@Claren4me mind break is completely different, this is closer to mind control/hypnosis and mind control is not directly related to mind break either. rape (or even consensual sex) can result in a mind break without any mind control

@vagooo When you get down to it, it's a bit like that old joke about how the Inuit have a hundred different words for snow. For those not into it, mind control is mind control, but for those who are, there's all sorts of different variations which have their own names. For instance, common sense alteration is one variation, while hypnosis would be another one. Incidentally, while hypnosis is very commonly conflated with general mind control, it more properly refers to the induction, where the target's mind is put to sleep. The best of these show it as a gradual process, which means that it is rather rare as most people want to skip directly to the sex and don't find the slow loss/surrender of control to be arousing. @jor25: these were really helpful! OK so let's examine 'common sense', 常識 jōshiki followed by 'alteration', kaihen 改変,. If you do search for jōshikikaihen / 常識改変 there are some good examples and I'd bet there'd be variation on it in JP. https://jisho.org/search?utf8=✔&keyword=常識改変 If this is gonna be a subtag of mind control, I think It makes sense as there seem to be a lot of this specific type. It does seem like a bonafide thing artists have run with But I gotta warn OP: is this much different from potentially just having a 'hypnosis' tag instead? As that is effectively what this is. Some might be inclined to put all forms of hypnosis together instead. @vagooo It can be a sort of subtype of mind control, but mind control can also be used for other effects, like memory altering, puppeting someone, or perception manipulation. I don't really understand this proposal. Can examples be posted? Is there a common JP term/translation of it? Why is it diff from mind control. I can't vote this up as is.

You might be right, the name is fine, maybe just describe it as plots where common sense is alterate one way or another, not exclusive to hypnosis, you can just pair it with "mind control" to sort the hypnosis ones.

We should probably have a separate tag, perhaps "alternate common sense", for those common plots where it really is the common sense of the town/island/alternate world to go naked or boink family or whatever.
