Ngl Mr. Ranchdog it's your call to judge based on your own logic whether this tag belongs or not. If you think its fine then send the go ahead, if not just reject it. I doubt people would be upset if you had a concrete reason for accepting or rejecting. If they do get upset then at the end of the day its a hentai site bruh everyone's gunna forget like tomorow lol

Just clarifying I slightly breezed through the discourse and from what I got there seems to be conflict between Vanilla and Wholesome so: Wholesome: Galleries that involve plot content that make readers feel a sense of joy and warmth. Vanilla: Galleries that contain non-fetish content Not really sure why there's so much discourse its kinda dumb ngl. Just rename this to wholesome or change the definition and it's over end of story

@ranchdong I genuinely think the solution is to create the wholesome tag. If it isn't enough in the future we can always come back to be revised or a new tag can be introduced. @Osamu09 Secondly, no offensive but any forms of logic goes out the window when dealing with doujins/porn "plots" so the more out there fetishes doujin authors comes up with, like say futa/genderswap/sex with cat girls/ etc., shouldn't matter when even the most basic setting has some silly illogical/unrealistic scenarios for sex because at the end of the day it's still porn and not that serious lol. imo that's the last thing people should think of when considering what's fitting for a tag; some dude having lovey-dovey, heart-warming sex with an anime girl that's half-snake with a long ass tail should not be dismissed from being under wholesome/vanilla just because it's "not normal" when the very concept of doujins themselves isn't exactly normal to the vast majority of people and is irrelevant to those who are just looking to beat their meat.

@ranchdong to be fair I think most of us agree it should be "wholesome" rather than vanilla, this just happened to be suggested earlier and it was the closest thing to what people want, which is something wholesome. Let's say we had a contest between the 2 tags and only one of them could be added. I think "wholesome" would win, though I guess it wouldn't be like a 0-100 victory, I think it would be a 15-85. And that's because "vanilla" is fundamentally different from "wholesome", so someone might prefer it (possibly not realizing that "vanilla" is hard to define and therefore their own view would clash with people who would also prefer "vanilla)

A lot of you complain that since netorare exist this should exist. But the problem is netorare has a concrete and demonstrable definition. This does not.

Do you guys not see how all this discourse and arguing is the very problem with this tag request? All the nuance, examples, and your personal opinion about what vanilla or wholesome or whatever is completely and 1000% lost on average gooner voting on a tag to add to a gallery. If y'all can't even decide on a concrete description let alone the tag itself what hope do you have for ever getting the tag added to a gallery?

@snkfire (also known as @granted since I forgot to tag you the first time) the second example is definitely a bit too extreme. There's clearly many many tags that make it different from vanilla lastly the first example it's still not vanilla to me, and the reason is that it's a MILF with a relatively young person. Like it would be one thing if he was older. And I guess I've just reached a new level of understanding. I've realized the true meaning of vanilla. Going back to the first example, why would a Milf with a young man (possibly adult, but still young) not be considered vanilla? Because it gives you a sense of immorality. Like the first things that comes to my mind is "vanilla minecraft" which is just minecraft without mods or at least without any mods that would change the gameplay too much. Part 2/3 Example #1 #292620 | Natsu no Omoide, Komugiiro | Cocoa Colo… | 22,553 is pretty simple: guy meets an older woman at a village during the summer and they have sex. Basic fetishes and it's just those two so I would give it the vanilla tag. Example #2: #88848 | Fella Pure ~Mitarai-san Chi no Jijou~ | 58,928 , doujin OGs should be no stranger to this one. Has a few funny moments and some questionable tags (incest) but it's all focused on the main two characters in a weirdly wholesome way so this should also go under vanilla. Example #3 #623372 | Mature Shemale Brothel and the Young Ma… | 3,160 , doujin where a guy will only request a specific futa prostitute, no romance but other people doesn't get involved so it's just nice one-on-one action fitting for vanilla tag. Last example #435326 | Akisame mabara ni natte | 23,717 , peak yaoi/crossdressing doujin that is super wholesome and will give you the feels.

Part 1/3 My personal opinion for what vanilla means in the context of doujins is two people who are having consensual sex are only involved with each other. No third female/male randomly showing up ruining things UNLESS it's a cute harem or threesome. Other fetishes (freaky/nasty or otherwise) should be allowed as long as it's kept between the aforementioned parties and the more infamous ones (NTR/rape/gangbang etc.) isn't in the work that's being tagged as vanilla. I haven't seen people provide examples to explain what vanilla means to them so I'll use the next post to provide specific examples of what I think fits under that tag

Would be a good tag but that's a terribly vague description. Vanilla is about not having fetishes, kinks, or philias of any kind play major roles within a story. At least as far as I'm aware.

@Ranchdog: Fine by me! (to no one's surprise) My take on a description for a 'wholesome' tag: "A heartfelt story with consensual sex throughout and a happy ending, oftentimes featuring romance, making you feel warm and fuzzy inside."

I'm for this tag, but we most likely need specific examples, then just "cozy feelings".

If it's too vague, rename it to pure love. Couldn't be more concise than that.

Then what? If I type in sole male sole female and probably a kissing tag in without, say rape and netorare as examples, I would still have like nothing because of how messed up this world is. If it's a nothingburger, then gentlemen you could do a better job, perhaps? But I do agree on it being to vague because it's unclear for a tag.

I think for now I'd be most comfortable merging this as wholesome as that is the general vibe I'm getting that people desire and closing out the other suggestions like romance etc.

@Aelter according to your description of vanilla, I can give you another new tag to consider: no fetishes. Which is easy to standardize among other tags, it has objective ground, can be easily determined and also gives you an understanding that doujinshi is "safe" and can be wholesome and vanilla. How about that idea?
