Part 2 Mind break is, brainwashing or mentally training a character to become a sex slave. This is not hypnosis. This can be phychologically conditioning a character into having sex, or sexually stimulating them into wanting to have sex; done like this, they keep their agency and is less extreme. Or, they are abused into having sex until they no longer reject it; like this they lose their agency. While I'm at it Mind control is, forcing a character to do something, through no will of their own. This can be hypnosis. They can be fully concious and aware or not conciously present at all. This is a character's body moving against their will by an outside force. They can be hypnotised, or told to act to do something, and their body will do it, even if they do not want to do it. This is not a character reluctantly doing something the do not want to do.

Corruption is, corrupting a character's mind through a supernatural force, robbing them of their purity. This is a character's very being changed to something else. They become someone they are not. Moral degeneration is, removing a character's moral standing towards sex. This can be done by mind break. A character that previously would not have sex, wants to have sex. Or a character that was loyal to their partner and would only have sex with them, now has sex with various other characters. Or a person that would only have vanilla sex starts to participate in things like exhibitionism, bdsm, or taboo acts.

@FrozenPineapple im pretty sure Metamorphosis is both corruption and moral degeneration, though. @faaresmo hit the nail on the head [Corruption] includes a forceful/malevolent outside influence, and [moral degeneration] is more of an internal struggle. To be clear, these often overlap. Examples below (tw incest, loli) Moral degeneration The brother (outside influence) is not forcing his sister to abandon her dignity/morals. She does it of her own volition primarily, so this is moral degeneration but not corruption Corruption: Since the sister is naive, there isn't really an internal fight to remain "good." There is a corrupting influence, but no moral degeneration. Not the best example Corruption and moral degeneration (most galleries will be in this grey area): The sister initially shows where her morals lie in the first few pages. The brother corrupts her, and as the story progresses, she abandons these morals. Both tags are present

On pixiv.net, the tag "corruption" (堕落 aku ochi; fall into evil) means switching sides from good to evil, which can happen as a result of brainwashing; demonic, spiritual or parasitic possession; falling into despair etc. When it happens in porn, it naturally also involves lechery, but lechery shouldn't be a defining factor. So for example, if a character is brainwashed into becoming a soldier in an evil organization, that's corruption but not moral degeneration. On the other hand, if a character becomes a slut but is still good at heart (like in Metamorphosis), that's moral degeneration but not corruption. I think this makes definitions unambiguous enough.

It's definitely not a scheme to embezzle public funds to enrich oneself.

If you don't feel like reading the whole conversation, here's my thoughts, copy pasted from there: If it helps, here’s what I consider to be the difference between moral degeneration and corruption: moral degeneration doesn’t change the underlying person, while corruption and mind break DO. I see mind break and corruption as changing the core of someone’s personality, while someone who has undergone moral degeneration is still the same person at their core. Take the example you gave earlier, of the husband and wife. Even though at the end of things, the wife is interested in more degenerate activities, she still retains her dignity, self respect, and loyalty to her husband. I’d describe that as moral degeneration. She didn’t become so desperate for cock that she is willing to sacrifice her public appearance, or have sex with anyone to sate her immediate desires. If that sort of change happened, I’d consider it to be corruption or mind break, depending on how it came about.

@M8 GTE There was a good discussion on the differences between corruption, mind break, and moral degeneration a few weeks back, over in the mind break comments: describe mind break accepted Maybe that'll help?

I feel like both the Corruption tag and the Moral Degradation tag are kinda redundant with each other. The both seem to imply the same thing. Someone with virtues, morals, or innocent becoming groomed into a state of lechery and usually falling in love with their corrupter like @eldune said. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I think emphasis needs to be placed on a corrupting influence, so as to differentiate this from moral degeneration

On VNDB, the primary category is called Sexual Corruption, described as:The person, though started out as innocent or not particularly interested in sex, becomes corrupted and sex-obsessed as time goes. This may be done deliberately through repeated sexual intercourse .Under this primary category, there is also a subcategory called Falling to Evil (sexual), described as:This character is subjected to a brand of Sexual Corruption, which results in them eventually switching sides from the side of Good, to Evil. Just like with other forms of Sexual Corruption, the character starts the game as pure/just/good, and is subjected to magic, mind control, rape & mindbreak, or other such techniques, that eventually make the character love/lust their corrupter and join their side. After exploring quite a few works featuring the "corruption" tag, I noticed the tag actually lumps together both of the distinct categories. Perhaps we could break things down and make a bit more specific?

I think a better description could be: "A corruptive force that corrupted either the mental or physical of one, most commonly corrupting purity into impurity. Innocent into sinful."
