Almost, but I would add "seduced" to the list of reasons. Since I've seen doujins with the unfaithful partner was neither coerced with blackmail nor physically forced, sometimes it's just a horny how who's tempted by a bigger dick than her husband's.

I was under the impression that "netorare" involved cuckoldry, more than anything else. Yes, the blackmail, jealousy, emotional conflict, etc is often involved, but it was also the act of knowingly stealing/being stolen from an otherwise monogamous pair (especially if the individual being cheated upon was aware of and hurt by said cheating). Sorry, long run-ons over there.

This description is not correct. Shadowbanned's definition is more accurate.describe netorare accepted

This definition is simply wrong. A pre-established relationship is not a requirement for NTR, nor is blackmail nor is being forced.

Doesn't this description leaves out the most important part of the word itself? "Steal"

I'm noticing a lot of doujins tagged 'Cheating' also getting the 'Netorare' tag, even though there is no instance of blackmail, jealousy, or emotional conflict. If the doujin features Cheating without the fallout or drama, then it isn't NTR. It's just Cheating. Don't tag a Mother Son Incest doujin as Netorare unless the father is the protagonist and the son is coercing the mother away from him or something.

For anyone curious I did put up the actual definition for the tag a few days ago. describe netorare accepted

It can not be this difficult to choose. Why not only: "Cheating"

Nah, it should be "The Greatest Tag of All Time".

attraction to some specific subject. And for this reason, and for a few other that i am too weary to mention, i think that the description that has already been given for this tag is as good as it will get. Of you wish to find netorare corruption, then you need only type in this: netorare, corruption. Though, a humble note, i think that it would be a good idea to give cheating a male and female version, for i oft make attempts to find one of them, and oft am left disappointed. 3/3

but, at its core, there is but one definition: the act of a cuck, willingly and knowingly, allowing or forcing their partner to have sex with others. Now, again, there are countless variations; the cuck forces his partner into having sex with other, the just asks their partner to do it, and so the partner does. It is a headache to go through all of them, but surely you get the gist of it. Now, onto the more tricky tag; netorare. Netorare is the process of the cuck’s partner being “taken away”, either by coercion or just straight up rape. My bus is going to come soon so i’ll wrap it up quickly. The main that makes netorare different from netorase and cheating, is that only the bull is doing things consensually. Fetishes are hard things to define, for everybody has their own little variation of what they like, the fetishes we speak of are only generalisations of our attractions towards specific acts or images. So we must settle on a definition that best generalises everybody’s

Ye bunch of uncultured swines! You are lost, but worry not, for i am here! Voyager of the pornographic seas, eternally lost, and i may only save other lost souls but never myself… We must first separate the different tags related to netorare. First we have cheating: Cheating involves a person, who is already in a romantic relationship, being in yet another relationship with another person WITHOUT the person that the cheater is already in a pre-established romantic relationship with knowing. Now, what is important here is that the person having sex outside of their established relationship does so consensually(this is what you would call cheating). And there are many different variations of this act but the key definition in all of them is that the cheater is cheating completely of their own accord. Now we move on to the more familiar tag; netorase. Netorase involves three sets of people, a cuck, the cucks partner, and the “bull”. This too, has many different variations, 1/3(?)

i think this definition is too narrow because it treats NTR as being about coercion. the common theme in netorare is usually the displacement itself: someone emotionally, romantically, sexually, or otherwise relationally important to the focal character becoming attached to or prioritized toward a third party instead. blackmail or force are just possible mechanisms, not the defining feature. i know this definition seems a bit long-winded but it allows the netorare tag to be (just imo) appropriately applied to what is known as "Mom NTR" and similar themes where the focal character isn't necessarily in a sexual relationship with the person being "stolen"

SIMPLY PUT: As long as the MC or FMC has a sense of longing towards one another OR one sided —- already NTR.

I think NTR is essentialy a situation where your significant other(s), regardless of relationship or status, is being tsken away by a third party, willingly or not. MC doesn't have to be a sexless loser (Take a look at that one ongoing work by Peter Mitsuru, MC is actually good at sex). It's about the feeling of loss, maybe.

it does not hve to be forced or blackmailed that would be the tags rape or blackmail its more like being in a romantic relationship with someone while engaging in sexual relations with someone else without all parties agreing or knowing of this

Since when is netorare only about blackmail and being forced? The partner can willingly cheat on the other and that's still counts as netorare

A better description would be "Netorare is a fetish involving a close relationship, usually romantic, where a third party seduces or "steals" one of the partners. The focus is typically on the emotional pain, betrayal and/or humiliation experienced by the person who is left behind."

I vote for removing the abbreviation, NTR, across the board. As it can mean both Netorare and Netori, two opposite meanings.

Blackmail or rape aren't a requirement for NTR, additionally, as opposed to cheating NTR puts an emphasis on the reaction of the person being cheated on. Cheating might be just Oyakodon with the daughter's boyfriend cuz technically the mother is cheating on her husband, but also put no form of emphasis on it whatsoever. NTR is when a person gets cheated on (be it through the partner wanting to or not) and we get to see their reaction and feelings to it.

Some form of relationship (doesn't have to be romantic) is required, the error here is the blackmail/Rape requirement, netorare does not require that, the partner can cheat willingly it is still netorare as long his/her partner is unaware or didn't consent (if consented or not consented but aware and secretly appreciated is netoraSe instead). In my opinion the correct description would be: When a member of a closed relationship engages in a sexual relationship with a third party, without her/his partner/friend consent. That way it's kept simple if blackmail or whatever happens we can add said tag alongside.

A relationship (not necessarily romantic) between the main couple is absolutely required for NTR. The plot by definition is watching how two protagonists react as one is being "Taken" by the antagonist. If all it took was a sexual loser then most Orgasm Denial works would count too since they could be classed that way. And while NTR and Netori are different from each other they are definitely not opposites, more of a two sides same coin thing. A good example is the difference between and . The first has the mc (kinda) cuck the 2 dudes making it a Netori. Where in the second the mc is being cucked by them making it NTR or Cheating. The thing is if the mc had no relation to the main girl in the second it would just be a normal onsen mmf while a random dude played video games. It's fact that they know each-other is what makes it NTR, it's all about the context. Simply put, NTR is being cucked (difference from cheating is usually level of consent); Netori is doing the cucking.

There absolutely should be a netori tag and I do believe it's on it's way as the #5 trending option. It's just this tag has an incorrect description. NTR does not require a relationship, that isn't how the hentai artists use it, it's not how the hentai industry in japan use it, and it's not how we in the west used it until a vocal minority very recently seem to want to stop tagging ntr as ntr. I don't know why we would redefine it to be almost identical to the cheating tag. NTR also does not require coercion, it is a very common theme for the woman to be coerced into sex but it's not a requirement. I don't understand this description at all.

I don’t necessarily disagree but in that case we ought to have a netori tag too then
Shadowbanned

No, there is no relationship status required for the tag. Works of NTR are just works where the mc is a sexual loser. The definition you are attempting to use would overlap with netori when the two are opposites. NTR is specifically when the MC is losing while Netori is specifically the one where the mc is doing the stealing.
