I think when people think of "netorare" or "ntr", they usually think of the female being stolen. Reverse netorare is a well-known term that means that the male is stolen, most often by another female.

Applied

NTR works where the gender roles are reversed, i.e. a man gets stolen instead of a woman. A common example would be a girl stealing a boy from his girlfriend.

staff I'ma just send it with this, the description can always be modified later if you guys upvote for it.

Listen I'm all for adding a Reverse Netorare tag. It's one of my favorite hentai genre's out there. The problem is most people if you ask them about ntr everyone immediately assumes it's some guy losing his girl because that's how it was popularized. However recently people have been getting more and more interested in watching when a girl lose her male partner to another woman. Logically speaking there is no gender specified in the NTR description. NTR is NTR Regardless of who is being stolen, still though I'm all for adding the tag because it can help those out there like myself to better find a girl stealing a guy. Description could be like: Reverse Netorare widely known as a Female Protagonist losing her Male love interest to another Female, done through blackmail, corruption, manipulation and other lewd actions.

I think shorter desciption will be better: The male is targeted and stolen from his partner.

This basically reinforces what @yenotguilty has been saying all along. Considering that and what I've said previously way down below I think "female ntr" would be a better tag name in conclusion. @ranchdong I have the alternate description over there in the previous message, under the "female netorare" bit.

I had to check first on the proposed tag name before we finalize things. Reverse Netorare - "The term Reverse Netorare (Reverse NTR) refers to the inverse of the standard Japanese storytelling trope Netorare (NTR). While regular NTR focuses on a protagonist suffering emotional distress because their romantic partner is stolen by someone else, Reverse NTR flips this dynamic, often focusing on the protagonist doing the "stealing" or exploring the scenario from a consensual, non-distressing angle." That is the description that is coming up on Google Search. This is basically netori isn't it? I tried "female netorare" where OP's description might fit the closest. This is what I got. Female Netorare - "In the context of manga, anime, and pop culture, Netorare (often abbreviated as NTR) translates to "cuckoldry" or "to have a partner taken away". When referring to a female netorare, it describes a story where a female character's boyfriend or husband is seduced or stolen by another woman."

Description is note not a description, please drop a description I can use to accept, and we will be going with "reverse netorare" you guys can focus on cleanup / rename later.

ok, I've decided to catch up with this suggestion comments. I actually thought the discussion was much deeper, but it's extremely simple if you know what netorare and netori means I've just learned that gyaku just means opposite/reverse, so there's literally no reason to not just use the english word I agree to call it just "reverse ntr" instead of "netorare". For one, it includes "netori" too so we don't have to make a new tag. For two, the reverse is just less common so it's fine to be less specific or we would need like 10 different tags (which gender stolen from which gender from which point of view). For three, the argument of people not finding the tag is super weak, and here's why. If you type "reverse n" you will see "reverse ntr", so if you don't see it that's just a skill issue That's it. The admin could also just accept it as "reverse netorare" and later we decide if we want to add a separate tag for "reverse netori" or just rename it to "reverse ntr". Small difference

@jjmcm would be a lot clearer with tags having inherit male/female prefix, sadpanda calls in namespace and all normal tags either exist as male, female, or other, with group/mixed also existing but a lot more rare, might be a good system to go with so stuff like this is a lot more transparent and straightforward

Reverse NTR, as most people understand it, is the MAN being stolen. The other tags are defined by what is happening to the woman. This specifically is about the dude being stolen by someone outside the relationship.

Exactly that's what I was saying. No way we are going to create three more reverse tags now. Now instead of creating three tags "netorare", "netori", "netorase" here, we just need to give it "NTR". We can convey three meanings with this. If the common name is more acceptable then "gyaku ntr", if not "reverse ntr" which can be understood better....

Whether it goes as “gyaku ntr” or “reverse ntr” i don’t mind. But some of these people really need to actually read for once in their lives. Saying “this already exists, it’s called netori.” When the first netori that pops up is literally a man (the mc) stealing another mans girlfriend, shows your brain doesn’t function well. Most netori hentai is still just man stealing girl. I get being uninformed, but it takes 2 seconds to actually check, and if you’re confident enough to contribute to this conversation, you should at least know that much. Listen to @Aelter and @Peterfox, an additional tag like this will help.

Nah I think this name will be better. gyaku is a Japanese word which means reverse or opposite. And "gyaku ntr" show 108 result with this title which means it is popular in hentai.
aldinikirito

"gyaku ntr" tag will be better. because it’s can be "netorare" or "netori". And "gyaku ntr" already a old name... and a popular name in hentai... you can search "gyaku ntr" to find all of them. admin can change the name to "gyaku ntr".

Not that there's a tag for gyaku netorare already. But if a tag does get added, it should be gyaku netorare and not reverse netorare.

Yes, but that's already called gyaku netorare.

I don't feel like it's necessary to add a specific case scenario for when it's a female character doing the NTR. As everyone mentioned already Netori is a thing now and has been approved.

Agreed with the others, the description is your justification and this needs to be changed but the tag itself should be added with one of the suggested descriptions.

The tag description looks more like a tag note. I can understand the reasoning behind calling it 'reverse ntr', but one potential benefit of having the tag be named "reverse netorare" is that if a user is being lazy with the query/doesn't care which type of netorare it is typing "netorare" should return results for both types—conversely if I'm not wanting any type of netorare I can exclude simply exclude it by typing -"netorare". If the tag is "reverse ntr" I'd have to exclude both separately.

I agree with @Aelter's point "I think this should be named 'reverse ntr' to encompass netori and netorase too" and use the other existing tags netori and netorase in combination to distinguish the subgenres. No need to create any more tags like 'reverse netori' etc.

You don't have to know these things if you just read eromanga every now and then, but when creating stuff that affects the greatest eromanga site on the web, you need to read up and get your facts straight. If you are unsure, look at definitions from well-respected sites. Here's a list: 🔸 DANBOORU — The best, look here first 🔸 JAPANESEWITHANIME.com — Hidden gem, well-researched, lots of examples from animanga media. Both Japanese and English terms 🔸 FAKKU — The traitors at least have very good tag descriptions 🔸 GELBOORU and RULE34.xxx — To compare with definitions on Danbooru 🔸 E621 — Experts on yiff and anthropomorphism 🔸 WIKIPEDIA* — Articles from outside the culture. The Japanese one covers terms hard to find elsewhere 🔸 WIKTIONARY* — Shorter explanations from outside the culture 🔸 URBAN DICTIONARY — Sloppily written, but may have ideas otherwise lost * - Only use the English one! Do not use any other, except the Japanese one for a broader understanding

Peterfox speaks the truth. Reverse netorare is already established as being "netorare with flipped genders" like every other 'reverse' tag. If you can't wrap your head around it, think of 'reverse harem' and apply the logic to whatever else. The OP has been correct all along, even though the description is clumsily worded. Most common netorare situation: A boy's girlfriend gets stolen by another man. Most common reverse netorare situation: A girl's boyfriend gets stolen by another woman. Reverse netorare is a subset of netorare, which in turn is the most common form of NTR. A part of the userbase wants that certain spicy dynamic and with the current tagging system it's not the easiest to find. Advanced info: - NTR is often cheating but it doesn't have to be. A kid could have his mom NTRed by his bully. - The three subtypes have their own lesser known acronyms, netorare has NTRR, netori has NTL, netorase has NTRS. - There's another type called BSS.

@Nate Cumbersome That's because a big part of the retarded userbase on this site have no fucking idea what NTR actually is, because we never had tags here that differentiate between it or were simply used wrong the whole time. Netorare: MC's significant other or crush get's stolen in front of him Netori: MC is doing the stealing or takes crush/girlfriend etc. back Netorase: MC is willingly giving the crush/girlfriend away due to reasons Swinging & Cheating are NOT part of that. Reverse Netorare is still just Netorare BUT!!! I still am for adding this tag simply because it would be easier to find & differentiate between male & female.

Highly support. Unlike some other popular missing tags, I don't think there are any current tag combinations that can effectively function as this one.

Netori is NTR but on the one that stole POV. Reverse NTR is essentially "anti-harem" . A guy with s being seduced by another girl while his GF is very loyal to him.

@ranchdong Netori is when the main character (regardless of gender) is the one stealing someone's significant other (regardless of gender). Reverse Netorare is when a *female* character (regardless if she's a main character or not) steals a *male* character who already has a significant other. I thought this was easy to differentiate but even with the descriptions a lot of ppl still somehow thought they're the same

i think it's a great tag and one i have been hoping they'll add for a long time, and to the two below me it's mostly for male mc who has a gf and gets stoleb/seduced by another women, but it can apply when she's the mc and is a cuckqueen, but mostly it's male mc getting stolen, hope they'll add this one.

Seconding the other comments saying this is an especially poor use case for "reverse <tag>". There are too many possible combinations of genders, POVs, and who's getting stolen from whom.

Description is a little vague, is this any case where the male is being stolen by a female even if she's not the mc, or would we need an additional new tag for "reverse netori"?

(One more point) note that searching for same sex content by combining with same sex tags is not sufficient. yuri + netorare will turn up work that is BOTH female-to-female netorare AND male-to-female netorare where female is stolen from her female partner. The two are NOT the same and thus an explicit female-to-female netorare tag seems required. (Same for yaoi + netorare or yuri + netori)
yenotguilty
yenotguilty
(Continued...) On top of that, the netorare/reverse netorare and netori/reverse netori still does not describe same sex situations. e.g. male stealing from male (male-to-male netori), female stealing from female (female-to-female netori), male stolen from male (male-to-male netorare), and female stolen from female (female-to-female netorare). Although it sounds like tags proliferating, the full map seems to require 8 tags (male-to-male, male-to-female, female-to-male, female-to-female for both netori and netorare.)
yenotguilty
yenotguilty
Thinking out loud... netorare seems to apply to stories where the female is stolen from her male partner by another character (one doing the stealing could be male or female) and is told from the perspective of the male (one being stolen from). Netori seems to apply to stories where male steals female from the female's partner (female's partner could be either gender) and is told from the perspective of the male (one doing the stealing). This means that reverse netorare is NOT netori assuming reverse applies to gender. Reverse netorare would seem to apply to stories where the male is stolen from his female partner and told from the perspective of the female (one being stolen from). This suggests that we need netorare/reverse netorare and netori/reverse netori as all 4 describe distinct situations.

to me the words sounds more like the one that was being stolen gets taken back instead of the just allowing the netorared being cucked and allowing the girl/guy to leave
theyuriguy

Instead of distinguishing bulls and cucks, and the grammar usage in Japanese made into our romaji tagging, this tag is just not it. The tag description is poor. It's an argument, not a description. Can take it to also mean the protagonist successfully takes back their love interest rather than a female character losing their love interest to another female character. This is the proposed description for netorare at this time: Or NTR, is when a member of a Closed Relationship is Blackmailed or Physically Forced into a Sexual Relationship with a Third Party.

Agree with all that is said below, I just want a distinction between male netorare and female netorare. If a mod or whatever agrees, they can change this to male netorare, while changing the regular "netorare" tag to female netorare

yenotguilty has got the right idea. This 'reverse' bullshit, while a well understood tag in dlsite (and it isn't used like this), honestly isn't that descriptive. This shit was solved decades ago by a certain gallery with separation of female and male character tags.
