I agree that the tag should be described as "Big Beautiful Women", but the second part isn't a good descriptor whatsoever. Now, I'm personally unsure where to draw the line, but I've noticed a lot of the BBW depictions here *start* with slightly chubby women with love handles. The other question begs, where to draw the BBW line on the other end of the spectrum?
I think there is a common understanding on this site that folds or rolls around the waist area are the minimum threshold to consider a character a bbw. For example: #678797|Netorareta Hitozuma|4,395 or #676062|Kakure Kyonyuu no Bungaku Shoujo Toshos…|2,871 This doesn't surprise me, given that if you visit JAV sites, the BBW tag includes women who look very similar to the characters in those works.
Since these rolls or "love handles" do indeed give female characters a chubby appearance, I think the description should include this, while still leaving room for characters with big and squishy bellies, such as: #411679|Ushi no Koki Mairi | Ox-Job Shrine Visit|6,645
Maybe this could be the description: "Works depicting female characters with folds and rolls around the waist area, or big and squishy bellies, typically accompanied by large breasts and plump thighs."
Funny, but -1 because the description guidelines are quite clear: "Short and factual. One or two sentences. Say what the tag means. Keep opinions out." Anything after the comma should be cut out.
The council of ancient Greece discussing a matter of the utmost importance. Jokes aside. There’s probably already a good definition of the term, right? Or some good examples. I don’t think this is such a modern concept… or is it? I think you guys should try to find some examples so you can clearly define the boundaries of the term, and make sure it’s used correctly.
the only part that should stay is the first clause. the "chubby soft women..." part should be dropped. That is clearly a personal fetish that does NOT correlate to the term.
The only set of fully ordinal tags in here are breast sizes. Small, (medium), big, huge, gigantic. Hyper is not a tag. Unfortunately right now, none are properly defined.
@akashako my only issue with that is that fat and obese is a little hard to separate.
I guess we can place faith in the democratic voting system. I think we could do with two tags: [chubby/curvy] for slightly above average, and [fat/obese] for anything above.
I feel like absurdly [obese] galleries aren't too common. Either way, im not too familiar with these ordinal tags like big, huge, gigantic, hyper.
If we are going to debate limits of how fat bbw is, then I propose rename this to "fat woman". If this works like how I think it works, the mods will agree.
Create a new bbw tag with, " A female character that is overweight, but not beyond a healthy weight." These characters have a slightly bigger belly, chubbier cheeks, slightly bigger thighs and slightly flabby arms.
Fat woman would be described as "A female character that is above an unhealthy weight, but not obese." These characters have a pronounced belly, big thighs not bigger than their head, and wider arms.
Create an obese tag, "A female character that is very overweight beyond healthy standards." These characters have a very large bellies, and wide thighs bigger than their head.
Osamu that work is a cultural issue probably. Assuming the Japanese actually calls her chunky it's gotta be by their standards. As an American no girl with a flat stomach is chunky and that girl has no love handles or anything.
ok, I just realized this is actually an important matter. Bring up exhibit #652471|Muchi Muchi Tennen Joshidaisei no Dosuk…|38,313. As you can see the female character could be easily defined as chubby, yet most people want to remove the bbw tag. This clearly shows a disparity between what the tag should mean and how people either perceive it or would like to use it. In conclusion I think we either need a new plus tag like "fat", a new minus tag like "chubby" or at the very least change the definition of "bbw" to not include slightly chubby characters
could we preserve this tag for women who would be described as "fat" more generally, while making another seperate tag for women with impossibly huge breasts and asses while being slim everywhere else
