@ricebunny correct. my issue with this proposal is that it opens the floodgates with all of the other family members:
friend's mom
friend's dad
friend's aunt
friend's uncle
friend's sister
friend's brother
friend's cousin
etc
of course, we would also have
mom's friend
dad's friend
aunt's friend
uncle's friend
etc
The number of tags we would have to create is staggering, especially considering there isn't much of a difference which family member is being stolen from/steals. That's why I think we should just generalize the two like this:
createtagfriend of family+7createtagfamily of friend+9
I left a list of all the related proposals, as well as more discussion here

I found this discussion when searching for a "sister's friends" tag. Saw a bunch of such works and it's different from "friend's sister". You can find lots of them by searching titles for "sister friend" or "imouto tomodachi", but not all of them. Could just add a sister tag to works that don't get found this way but not sure if I can add sister tag to works where she's not a focus and is only in one non-h panel.
Also searching sister tag alone finds way too many irrelevant works so it doesn't narrow the search that much.
Hope this adds something to the discussion.
@EnverRevne because the dynamic is the exact same: some character is "stealing" their friend's family-member away from the friend. what difference does it make to you when gooning if it's the friend's aunt, mom, sister, or cousin?
sure, more tags is better for accuracy, but having too much accuracy where it becomes hyper-specific makes the tag system bloated. Tagging galleries with a huge list to choose from is increasingly difficult, and so is finding new tags that u may end up liking
But why would you generalise to "friend's family" instead of suggesting to add those "friend's sister/aunt" tags? Isn't it better to add more tags for more accurate results when searching for works?
Think it should just be "friend's family" or along those lines. I've seen a lot of friend's sister or friend's aunt, hell even friend's dad.
Rather have that general tag than only having "friend's mom" even though it's the same dynamic yk. Could also do multiple "friend's [x]" tags pertaining to each family member but that's redundant and convoluted
There's more specific tags and when I think of a way to search for this I can't really think of any way. Therefore add it. To make the cataloug clearer
