tag needs retranslation
Tag description A translation so genuinely bad that "rough translation" is an understatement and that the community is actively asking for this work to be re-translated.
note Made to as a tag for TL groups to see which "translated" works need to be actually translated instead of MTL'ed.

@Jor25 So you want priority on the more horrible ones? Fair enough. If this tag proposal is to be used mainly as a flag for potential retranslators, also fair enough.

@40-sai archwizard No argument, but there are some that need it more than others. On one hand, there are works like this, , where the uploader put in extensive effort to typeset and confirm the accuracy of the translation that the LLM output, and made adjustments to improve readability (see notes at the end of the gallery). On the other end of the scale, there's slop like what I'd linked earlier, , where the "translated" work is all but complete gibberish.

TBH I think ALL MTLs need retranslation. So at least IMO this proposal is moot.

What if the tag was named “incomprehensible translation” instead?

There are occasionally uploads like this, , where the MTL is so rough it’s all but gibberish. I think this tag could be useful if the bar is set around that height, and not include every machine translation. After all, most machine translations, though subpar, are at least somewhat comprehensible.

I had forgotten about it as well, but "machine translation" has already been created. Even if we want to go a step beyond just machine translation and borderline AI translation, I think it would be too redundant
