@Zedratuguir2 There's nothing magical or supernatural about your example - remove that time travel bit and you're left with just a person getting thrown into a prehistoric uncivilized society. IMO for the intended context of this tag proposal your example isn't going to cut it, just like I would label Dr. Stone doujinshi as sci-fi rather than fantasy. It's a nice read though, thanks.
@Rockman x 2nd When most people think about fantasy, Dungeons and Dragons is usually what comes to mind. If a story takes place in a medieval or ancient setting and includes magical elements or mythical creatures, that’s what most people consider fantasy.
idk how useful this tag would be. Like, the main reason I would use this tag is to find doujins with hot mythical creatures like orcs, elves or onis, and I can already do that by simply searching those tags. But if the tag mainly focuses on the setting rather than on the creatures, then it will leave out works that include these mythical creatures but in a setting that isn't medieval or ancient like #635317|Otonari-san no Moto Sword Master Elf!!…|10,881 and idk if that would be a desired outcome.
if you wanna be pedantic, in meta, all pieces of porn with 2 people is ntr because youre not the one fucking the girl. it is still a useful category even if the definition isnt rigid
You're all smart. You guys can differentiate between fantastical fantasy based on tropes of magics and dragons with daydream fantasy which encompasses all of fiction
for all intents and purpose, every single work ever written is a piece of fantasy. if you want something, it should be clearer than just a single "fantasy" tag
you want a generic RPG fantasy world?
you want a lolicon story?
you want a NTR story?
you want to fuck a dragon?
you want to be raped?
you want Rance or Rias to have sex with you?
you want a doting lover who actually loves you and will treat you just how you wanted?
all that is fantasy. modern-day fantasy, medieval fantasy, RPG fantasy or futuristic fantasy or whatever, be clearer. don't have a generic fantasy tag and expect everyone to have the same idea of fantasy as you
this defo should be split into multiple tags. here's my suggestion:
isekai
adventurer fantasy
sci-fi (shortened for science fantasy - not what you think, but you get the gist)
chosen one
npc/background chara
medieval fantasy
antiquity fantasy
and so on
If we're talking about the broader definition of fantasy then about 99.9% of the uploads here will fall under that category because they're fiction based on the artists' fantasies duh, only those based on real life will be the exception. So I already suggested narrowing it down to what I said on my previous comment; any subtags after that can be posted on another proposal instead.
damn good points. i was assuming people will have the same expectation as me of what kind of fantasy when they see the fantasy tag. more reason to update the description
agree with @lord411 especially since fantasy can be misunderstood in a myriad of other ways: hallucinations, flashbacks, visions, etc. instead of the genre of media
@octrice's stocking
"fantasy" has hundreds if not thousand subgenres, and even in hentai it can get ridiculously broad and pointless. a hypnosis story in a modern school is still "fantasy" just because of magic hypnosis, and i doubt that's the goal of this tag. so it is important to be more specific
@lord411 I don't think we need to be that specific because fantasy tag will include any subgenres or relevant settings/themes to it. I'll use group tag as an example for this, because it covered tags involving multiple person (ffm, mmf, harem)
How about we adapt from the wiki definition?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy
"Fantasy is a genre of speculative fiction that involves supernatural or magical elements, often including completely imaginary realms and creatures."
I'd rewrite this as "Fantasy in hentai is a genre that has supernatural or magical elements outside the realm of real life possibilities."
BTW, there's createtagsci-fi+14 for robot maids and the like that are more grounded in science.
Just a question what is the scope of this tag which doijin is included and which is not. I understand Isekai and adventure World settings but what about magic, monster, demon, etc.
i signed up just to suggest this, so frustrating to not have this tag its so weird like i cant think of any valid reason for this tag to not have existed like 10 years ago
@YuriLover31 I know right! I really love the setting when it come to fantasy world but its kinda hard to find it TwT
@Osamu09 i see! OH IM AGREE, setting is kinda best like school setting, fantasy setting, office setting or etc, i know its like asking too much, but that is one of an awesome idea
@kuro60, doesn't matter. Admins are gonna change the description themselves. Feel free to post one in the comments and they might consider using that. Also I've said this in a few other suggestions, but I think that, if possible, they should make a separate category for "setting", just like there's "parodies" and "characters"
That’s a good idea, but i think that you might have mixed up the tag description with the note option. I recommend you repost it. I think you can leave the description empty and just let someone else to fill it in for you if you don’t feel like filling it in.
