OP doesn't have as strong enough def. Like @Qrow_is_a_bird is saying, asphyx is about limiting oxygen. Yes, that is achieved in some cases by limiting blood flow... but asphyx also covers other kinds of deprivation like obstructing/airway. We need a tweak here. @b354544: I think you raise some interesting points. Honestly though, I think all kinds of 'choking' do count as asphyxiation. Asphyx covers all kinds of 'breath play' even if lower grade things come to mind first. I think there's some other tags you are forgetting, like 'snuff' or 'passed out' which are more about the consequences you are/aren't seeking. These should be used to filter or blacklist content you don't want. To me: any def needs to have 'breath play' in it. For now, I will vote this up as it 'works' but it has problems and needs to be improved.

I disagree with this description. The reason being that "asphyxiation" implies the brain actually being deprived of oxygen, which is a step up from/the more extreme end of "breath play" (which is a tag I believe should be introduced in general). There's a huge difference between "I'm choking someone to restrict blood flow for a short period while fucking," and "I've wrapped a rope or belt around someone's neck and I'm strangling them to the point of unconsciousness." However both of these acts are often tagged under the same "asphyxiation" tag. Too many manga that have the "asphyxiation" tag have simply, as an example, one panel out of a 30+ page story of a person saying during a blowjob, "it's too big I can't breathe." This same tag is also used to tag stories where a significant focus is on holding someone underwater until they pass out.

Asphyxiation has nothing to do with blood, and "choking" connotates to easily to specifically using hands for a tag that should just be about restricting oxygen in general. I don't feel like this is it chief.
