soooo merriam webster defines [roommate] as "one of two or more persons sharing the same room or living quarters" but wikipedia comes in and defines it as "a person with whom one shares a living facility such as a room or dormitory except when being family or romantically involved"
tbf a dictionary is probably more reliable than an under-cited wikipedia article but it seems there is room for either definition. up to the community to decide i guess
For the record, I enjoy incest plots too, I just feel that this is a different category of plot, hence the explicit separation. It’s also kind of redundant, since most incest plots involve living together anyways, so you can find those just by searching the incest tag directly. Splitting it would also allow filtering for, say, plots where the MC’s girlfriend starts living with him and he ends up getting with his sister too (e.g. #452949|Hatsuecchi no Aite wa... Imouto! My Fir…|7,471), which are always fun but kinda hard to find right now.
With that said, I can edit the suggestion to include it if enough people feel it should be expanded though. I could also expand the name to a more generic ‘living together/cohabitation’, though I feel ‘roommates’ basically covers them already. The main issue is that I don’t want to accidentally make a tag too broad that it suddenly has to be added to a billion entries, so that needs to be taken into consideration.
on VNDB there's a "under the same roof" tag. Which to be honest is kinda long. But to me "roomates" sounds a bit too specific, like I wouldn't call them "roomates" if a character has just momentarily moved in the other one's house because their house burned down or something
After thinking about it, I would call it "shared house", it's quite simple and to the point
About the related characters (incest) I think they should be included, and the reasoning is that incest can happen even if the characters aren't living in the same house, or the whole hentai happens outside a house
Might be worth changing the term ‘house’ to something more general, but I don’t want to accidentally expand this to include neighbours and the like, so I’m not sure if there’s something better.
