tag personality death
Tag description when a character's personality is irrevocably erased, overwritten, or otherwise completely destroyed. the character is dead, though their body is still alive.
note we should have this tag for the same reason that we have the snuff tag.

In mind break, even though the mind is broken, the ‘shards’ remain. The victim still remembers who they are, who their loved ones are, even if they can’t resist the one who broke them. With personality death, there isn’t even that. Whoever they were before is gone, wiped clean. An explicit example of personality death starts on page 29 of . There’s also an example in , starting on page 209. Most of the other chapters in the latter end with or involve mind break, but that chapter goes a step further. There are other works by Fan no Hitori that feature personality death, in the form of personality excretion where the manifested personality is then destroyed in some way

How is this different from "mind break"? Could you provide some examples?

This is kind of a combination of 'mind break' and 'snuff', but not really either of those things.

I was a bit conflicted about this but then I realized this. Shouldn't "snuff" include those kind of deaths too? Why would we separate them? If anything "personality death" would be "snuff" without "guro" for the most part
