tag het
Tag description Sex between a man and a woman
note Would make it possible to blacklist content with straight sex, making it easier to find yuri/yaoi/solo content. Also would make tagging stories with both straight and gay content easier.

@eMajat if you want just dickgirls or females there's "females only" and "dickgirls only". And yeah, "females only" excludes futanari/dickgirls as the official current description states. If you just want to exclude males then yeah, it's a lot more tricky. I'm not even sure how the bisexual tag would work. So it's possible that in cases involving dickgirls a heterosexual tag would be the most helpful. But again, I'm not sure how the bisexual tag works in regards to futanari or, god forbid, shemales but yeah, as @iHaveADHD also pointed out, that's an absurd amount of tagging for such small cases

@eMajat I know this is very late, I probably stopped checking old suggestions after that. But now I'm checking just a little bit and saw the new comment by searching [yaoi -bisexual -"males only"] you can theoretically find gay content without bisexual content, and because there's gonna be one female there's also gonna be either yuri, which I guess could be removed if needed, or straight sex. That last variable I guess makes it a bit more tricky. Also as a side note there's 8k+ results, but I think that most of those are simply missing the "males only" tag, in fact if you remove "yuri" it just removes about 150 results for both men and women but no straight content, that basically means it's gonna have both yuri and yaoi. Best you can do is [yaoi yuri -bisexual]. The bisexual makes it less likely for there to be a different couple that doesn't engage in yaoi or yuri activities, but indeed it's not guaranteed. Once again the results are very few, about 136

I get his intention, but the logistics behind applying this would be a nightmare. From what I've seen, new tags are populated from scratch, which is exactly what the GTS is for (suggesting which tag goes to which gallery). And... if you think about it, if you exclude yaoi and yuri, there are roughly 210k potential galleries that might or might not be straight. I think even if it gets approved, it would take a ridiculous amount of time to tag everything. It's already taking forever to populate the 'wholesome' tag, and that was something everyone genuinely wanted and people are actively engaged in doing.

Want to find stories that feature both straight and gay content but no bisexual content? Can't do that without a straight tag. Want to find stories that feature both men and women but no straight content? Can't do that without a straight tag. Want to find stories that feature only women and/or "dickgirls". Good fucking luck since there aren't any ways to exclude men or straight stuff in general. Similar issue goes the other way. There's a bunch of specific issues where the lack of a straight tag is an issue. Your argument really is not "stone solid", it's holding itself together but it's not that hard to knock holes in it. Also, my argument about "females only" is that futa on female & futa on futa content *is* yuri, so you literally can't find all yuri works by just using the females only tag. And stories that aren't yuri, yaoi, or straight includes masturbation, but it also includes stuff like machines and aliens and shit that doesn't fit into the three sexuality categories or solo.

@eMajat I guess I actually missed your comments because the profile picture is the same color as the background. I've been pretty tired these past few days. My bad but yeah, my argument is pretty much stone solid. And I actually figured out one more thing there's a "bisexual" tag too, so it makes it even easier to look for straight content or both yaoi/yuri and straight

@Osamu09 I still firmly believe that what we have now is both insufficient and that the lack of a straight tag is nonsensical even if it wasn't necessary, but whatever. Go on being idiots.

the OP deleted their comments arguing for this tag. So I believe we reached a consensus. We can safely reject this suggestion as a side note, I've seen someone asking why we use difficult words like "consensus" and it just sounds cooler

oh and for searching stories with both yaoi/yuri and straight sex you can just do [-"males only" yaoi] and you will get both

@eMajat I mean, the brutal and honest truth is that most people are straight, and so are most works. So it makes sense that whoever decided the tags only added "yaoi" and "yuri". If anything it's good that there are already "females only" and "males only" tags

@eMajat I checked and while there are a few exceptions with works tagged "females only" having futanari, it's literally 0.1% or less. And I agree they shouldn't be "females only", which we can just vote to remove overall you're not wrong that having a "het" or "straight" tag would be useful, but it's just not worth it. If someone is looking for yuri or yaoi there are "females only" and "males only". If you only search for "yuri" then yeah you're gonna get many works with mostly straight sex, but again "females only" and I don't see the issue. For stories that are neither yuri, yaoi or straight I'm guessing you mean "solo action" (aka masturbation only) which is a tag. Other things would be quite rare and mostly included in "non-h". Or maybe you meant like binary and all that LGBTQ+ stuff, which at least to me doesn't seem necessary, since a girl kissing a girl is yuri regardless of everything

I can definitively say that what this site currently has is not enough. It is very obvious that females only does not show all yuri works (thanks to futa) and yuri shows het works. And, there is also the issue of stories that aren't yuri, yaoi, or straight. The current system is limited in a way that "het" would fix, even if it might take forever to seed it. The best time to create that tag was when this site first began, the next best is right now. And besides that, why would you have a yuri and a yaoi tag but not a hetero tag? It makes no damn sense to exclude it.

We already have male only and female only, even a futa only and a couple others too iirc. Literally no reason for this when we can exclude tags in search.

Ah, this is similar to the ヘテロ tag in Pixiv for yaoi/yuri fans to not see opposite sex when they search on their titles where they assume it will be gay by default. Agree with Osamu’s suggestion. The current tags is enough if we constrain “males only” and “females only” to only the participant in the sex scenes. So it doesn’t apply to opposite sex simply showing up as supporting roles. There will be outlier case, but still works for most situations.

@eMajat for one, way too many works would need to be tagged, it's simply unreasonable. And second you can just add "yuri"/"yaoi" or remove them. @rocky19141 mention about anthologies is just beside the point. If you don't wanna accidentally see some straight sex you can use the "females only" or "males only" tags

@testf12 Precisely. There is currently no way to exclude heterosexual works from search results, only yuri and yaoi. @rocky19141 I abbreviated the name because it distinguishes the tag from the sexuality, similar to how we have yaoi and yuri instead of gay or lesbian. And with the new tag voting system, as long as all new releases are tagged with it the het/straight/heterosexual/whatever tag could eventually spread out to include all or at least most older works that it applies to.

What if a work has both, like an anthology for example? This seems harmless to add. The only issue being the name being abbreviated for no reason and the tedium of adding it to the thousands of works that might have it, just like with "vaginal" tag proposal.

Add a minus before each tag (e.g., -yaoi -yuri) to exclude them from search results.
