I’m not familiar with the term, how exactly does Odoriko differ from “belly dancer”? I’m personally of the opinion that the tagging system is more useful if there’s terminology is obvious to those seeing a tag for the first time. Is the meaning similar enough that a tag reading “odoriko|belly dancer”, having both the Japanese term and an English translation would be viable?
Fair enough, maybe even just using Odoriko since it encapsulates the genre the best. We already have a ton of Japanese tags, as well as new ones being accepted.
Maybe “belly dancer” or “harem outfit” might be a better name? Those more clearly convey the sort of outfit you are referring to, while just the English word “dancer” is too broad. (And “belly dancer” and “harem outfit” are tags I’ve seen used for this kind of outfit on gelbooru.)
For context I'm referring to the Japanese genre 踊り子 (Odoriko) - Dancer
I chose the word 踊り子 (Dancer) because it's already popularized genre on Pixiv, Twitter and Danbooru.
Example of dancer characters in anime:

... not to mention the characters in the 'idol' subgenre like Idolm@ster and Love Live! franchises.
I think tag proposal is ok, but kindly fix your description, not all dancers wear your stated gear.
