Tag description A storytelling category focused on the emotional journey and development of a romantic relationship between two or more characters.
note I think it is a great genre for people who want to look for romance while gooning. while it is close to wholesome, romance make it more focused on the relationship development.

@Osamu09 hahaha you might be right, but i don't think it's possible to dismiss genre tags. I've counted at least 18 proposals so the demand is clearly there (excluding things like guro or snuff which are technically genres of media, but not gallery-wide genres like [romance] or [comedy]) I'll be posting a hyperlinked list of the genre proposals that I've found at this link in a couple days if ur interested create tag tags with no description -44

Im agree with this genre, sometimes i found some great plot and nice art on intense love relationship between the characters

2/2 the other scenario that comes to mind is like serious romance where it's like a normal relationship, no fluff, no lovey-dovey, just a realistic romance story. Wow, that sounds boring. And in fact I think it's very rare so in either case, the romance tag would have too niche applications while overlapping too much with wholesome Honestly the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced we don't need genre tags in the first place. And I commented the same thing on create tag humor rejected, but basically most hentais while they can have other aspects like some comedy or drama, they still fundamentally remain hentai and not any other genre

1/2 currently there is still no genre tags, but if we have to start from one, it would have to be this the admin at first rejected this in favor of "wholesome". I always thought this tag could have had its own place. And if we do add other genres it just make sense to have "romance" it might be a good first step to define what "romance" is. Which is easier said than done. But on a surface level it's about developing feelings for someone you have a relationship with (any relationship, like friends or acquaintances) Also at first I thought that "romance" could include netorare works, which would've been the main thing separating it from "wholesome", but after trying to come up with a definition of romance I don't think that anymore. Overall I'm not sure if there could actually be a case where the "romance" tag could be applied in a netorare story, but most of the time it wouldn't anyway. For netorase it would be different, but honestly some netorase stories are wholesome
