It should just mean the MC’s mother, without specifying. Add incest tag for real moms and inseki for stepmoms/adoptive moms to specify the search. I know inseki’s also used for mothers-in-law but that should be its own tag cuz it’s a different dynamic from a blood/non-blood-related mom who raised you.

The "mother" tag on nhentai has always been used for doujins that have incestuous sex with one's own mother. MILF is general sex with a mother that isn't necessarily incestuous. Not sure why people are suddenly getting this confused.

Limiting the mother tag to just mother x son is completely wrong. A mother is a mother, whether she is the protagonist's mom, his friend's mom, or someone else's. The tag should describe the character's role, not a specific kink. If someone wants to filter out certain content, they can simply use the exclusion tools in the search bar. Keeping the tag general is way more practical; even a one-year-old child can tell the difference and understand this

@shay21324354, that's way too biased of a suggestion. It's not even practical and fair because a lot of mother tags are in yuri and futanari doujin's and H. Also, we don't need a stepmother tag; we already have an "Inseki" tag for that. If we add a stepmother tag, then next comes an adoptive mother, foster mother tag, etc. That would simply be impractical.

This is a little tricky since the definition on other sites is "Mother that have sex with their child." That's why you don't see Mother tagged on doujins despite them clearly having mothers in them. The description can either be: A. "The character in the sexual content of the story is a mother, and it plays an important role in the story." Or B. "The character in the sexual content of the story is a mother who is having sex with her child. whether they're biological or not is irrelevant." Also, mother tag being exclusive to being mother x son, is not true, since there are incest yuri and futanari works rightfully with the same tag. Having the tag go that way is too much of a personal preference tbh.

Mother should be exclusive to sex between mother and her son biologicalally or stepmom. We had too many overlap this tag with milf who is one of the most biggest and popular it would ge good if we can filter especially some doujin where the son got cucked by his friend but the tag is mother when it should be count as milf

I think the mother tag should be used only in instances where the mother and her child/children are, in some way, involved in a romantic relationship. That is because most of the works with the tag mother have a lot of overlap with the tag incest. And the milf tag should be, as @Weeb Gaster suggested, a woman who has or had children at some point, but the children are not in a romantic relationship with the mother. In this way we can keep most of the existing instances of the mother tag still valid, while separating it from the milf tag.

"Mother" right now overlaps with "milf" too much in my opinion. My view was that "milf" concerned moms viewed by the narratior/protagonist from an exterior perspective of her family and "mother" concerned moms viewed by a narrator/protagonist within her family. However this is not applied at all and both tags are added completely arbitrarily. We could separate both by using "mother" as "woman whom children are present in the story" and "milf" as "Hot mother who had or has children at some point". This way doujin with single moms where their children aren't present in the story get the "milf" tag and single moms who have their children present in the story get "mother". By "present in the story" I mean drawn explicitly in the work, not just mentionned in a text bubble. Not perfect by slightly more coherent.

But it could confuse `oyakodon` tag.
